Version 4.6.xx - January 2015

Happy New Year.

For 2015 we are working on our new QuickBooks Interface. This will allow completed work orders to be entered into QB's as a Sales Receipt. Customers will also be added along with the Sales Receipt. You will see updates on that as time progresses.

Here is a summary of what we did in 2015:

In 2015 we made:

Additions: 127

Changes and Tweaks: 52

Fixes: 33

For Version 4.6 we made:

Additions: 57

Changes and Tweaks: 22

Fixes: 13

For Version 4.7 we made:

Additions: 70

Changes and Tweaks: 30

Version 4.6.01 - January 14, 2015

Added: A tooltip to the parts browse (located in the RO Screen). This shows the vendor, Category, and technician just by hovering over the line item in the parts.

Added: A View button to the parts browse. This only shows up under completed work orders/invoices so you can view all of the selected part but cannot change it.

Added: Quickbooks test interface. Please do not use unless instructed at this time.

Added: A Customer Export to CSV (comma delimited) from the Import Utility.

Changed: Year of Copyright from 2014 to 2015. (Whew!.. that took a year!)

Fixed: Payment types and payment descriptions (credit card or check) were not being added to the payment logs.

Fixed: Split payments weren't properly added to the payment logs.

Fixed: 8 Profit reports didn't show anything. They now show the correct invoice information.

Changed: Individual Profit Report (available from the invoice browse screen) added cost w/taxes and cost w/discount.

Fixed: Invoice screen that shows all invoices for one customer. Now you can pay on Diagnostics and make individual payments for completed RO's.

Added: A browse screen with filters for all invoices. You cannot edit invoices here, but set filters and export the data to a spreadsheet. This will give you a true picture of your paid invoices and all of the money figures for each invoice. It is found under the Cash Files Menu.

Changed: Many reports had the old date range screen. Now the new date range screen is used on most reports.

Added: A checkmark to indicate a customer is not to get charged interest. If you only want certain invoices to not charge interest, only check the NCI button on the invoice (This can only be done before the invoice has been completed.

Changed: The interest compiler ignores invoices for customers that have the No Interest Checkmark checked.

(Additions - 6 , Changes - 4 , Fixes - 4 )

Version 4.6.02 - February 5, 2015

Added: Security level RO LABOR COST. This lets you hide the cost or wages of each technician in the labor log.

Added: Security Level: Edit Tech Hours. This prevents editing hours for tech signin (different than tech labor log).

Added: Security Level: Edit Payments. This prevents lower levels from editing the payments log for RO's.

Added: Security Level: Edit RO. Lower levels can only view the RO.. however they can still add an RO.

Added: Repair Order PO# is now available for custom Report Manager invoices.

Version 4.6.03 - February 26, 2015

Added: Table to add credit card types (Located in Credit Card Setup)

Added: Selection for credit card types in the payment screen. This is good if you don't use our built-in Credit card processor.

Added: Form to add more credit card information from your external processor

Added: Report to show how much you did in cash, checks, credit cards, and a break-down of your credit card types. This is located in the Reconcile screen (click on the cash icon at the top of the first screen).

Changed: Reminders List. You can now select the reminders list under Reports / Reminder Menu.

Added: Query to create a reminder list. You can create a list name, then add customers to that list by querying the Repair Orders or vehicles.

Changed: The postcard, postcard back and labels can be printed from the reminder list. These are just for printing on paper. (more later).

Changed the $ screen to show the customer information at the top of the screen, and added a tab for search.

Added: A search feature to the $ screen so you can search by parts, labor, or both. The search will search the part#, part description, part category, part extended description. For labor it searches the labor description and category. The search works in conjunction with other filters on the screen and the query button.

Added: A date filter. Click on the date icon and you can type in a date range. Then select S for the RO Start Date, D for the date completed, or N for no date filter.

Version 4.6.04 - March 5, 2015

Added: Inventory Utility to the Run Menu. The Utility lets you choose inventory and create a list so you can print, change, or delete items in the list.

Added: Barcode Printing to the Inventory Utility Program.

Added: Dynamic Label Printing to the Inventory Utility.

Added: Reports to the Report Manager for Items selected in the Inventory Utility.

Added: Barcode capability to the Selected Items in Report Manager. You can now make up your own labels and reports with (or without) barcodes using a combination of the Inventory Utility and Report Manager.

Added: Query by Part to the Inventory Utility.

Added: Checkmark in the Inventory Import to automatically add items imported into the Inventory Selection table in the Inventory Utility.

Added: Button(s) to view our Facebook Page, Blog, or current updates in the update screen (Click on the VMT Icon to get there).

Changed: When running the inventory import, it now closes the program, so if you are only running on one computer, you can import exclusively, meaning it will be much faster.

Version 4.6.05 - March 10, 2015

Added: 2 new fields for naming the taxes in the company setup, under taxes.

Changed: The new RO form now has the name of the taxes instead of just tax1 and tax2.

Added: Components File to vehicles

Changed: Notification added if you are using the old work order form, and took off the choice to use the old work order form off of the main work order browse screen. You can still turn it on in the company setup, but it is inadvisable. This form is no longer being worked on.

Changed: Invoice 15 and Invoice 16 now use the variable Tax Names.

Changed: Report Writer Invoices can now use the variable Tax Names.

Added: Inventory utility now has a 2nd temporary file that is used when you want to print out multiple labels of the same item. You simply tell each item the quantity in the selection table, create the temporary table using the copy icon, and it will create the correct quantities of each item. From there you can print barcodes or just labels using DynaLabel, or use the Report manager to create your own labels or list.

Added: Both the Selection table (IList) and the Temporary Table (ITemp) to the report manager.

Added: the ability to access just the Selection Reports or Temporary Reports directly from the Inventory Utility.

Added: Customer Phone Extension to Customer Entry Form.

Added: Customer Spouse Info to Customer Entry Form.

Version 4.6.06 - March 15, 2015

Added: Customer Markup. If you type in a markup for a customer, AND you check the "Ok to use Customer Markups" in the company setup, AND there is a cost in the part, the retail will get overridden by the customer markup percentage or margin.

Changed: If you are adding items from the parts list in the RO, if you do not have Quantity checkmarked it will not ask for a quantity but assume a quantity of 1.

Changed: If you are typing or scanning in the part number, and the part already exists in the RO, it (the program) will ask if you would like to add another part or update the quantity of the part that already exists in this RO.

Added Drag and Drop to the Parts List in the RO screen. You can 'grab' a part already on the screen and Drag it to the Delete Button or the Change Button. If you're good with a mouse this is great. It is even better if you have a touch screen. To Drag, simply click and hold the list item with the mouse or trackball, then move the item to the correct button and let go.

Changed: re-initialized the email settings before sending an invoice Email. Hopefully this will fix the few computers that had a problem.

Version 4.6.07 - March 18, 2015

Allowed for multiple Email Servers. This is beta and not needed. It is great for testing different email services like Google or outlook or for your own domain.

Added a Start Odometer/Hours field in the Work Order screen. This is only if you need to print out the start Odometer or hours. Be sure to fill in the end ODO/Hours so your vehicle gets updated.

Fixed: When sending a quick Email to a customer the send program was getting the customer by last name instead of the unique customer ID, which caused problems if you had multiple customers with the same last name.

Version 4.6.08 - March 19, 2015

Version 4.6.09 - March 23, 2015

Added: Drag and Drop from the RO Parts to the Inventory. If you added an item to an RO that was not in inventory, and you decided it should be in inventory, simply grab the part and drag it to the button that says Add Parts from Parts List and drop it. Although this works, it is preferable to add to the parts list directly then select a part for the RO. This is because there are certain fields in the actual parts list (inventory) that are not in the RO Part record.

Added: a couple of fields for customer so Report Manager could access them.

Added: Parts to the component list (under the vehicle).

Changed: PO# on Repair Order was numeric, now it is alpha-numeric.

Version 4.6.10 - March 26, 2015

Changed: Labor Items in the RO are now sorted as you put them in.

Version 4.6.11 - April 1, 2015

Added: New Report in Report Manager for Technician Labor Item Hours

Fixed: Invoice 16 was reporting the cost, now changed to Retail for Special Items.

Fixed: All Canned Invoices to report retail instead of cost for special items.

Changed: Some invoices that had the PO# will now show alpha-numeric instead of just a number.

Fixed: When adding items to the labor from the labor list the sequence number was 0, now it will be the number of the labor item you have highlighted +5, effectively putting the new labor item below the one you have highlighted.

Changed: Sync is now turned off for Tag Numbers and Odometer hours. To turn it back on go to Company Setup, Other Settings.

Added: New Labor Hours Login program. This allows you to log in or out very quickly multiple times for a labor item. Simply select the technician, the labor item, and log in or out. You can even switch technicians so the new tech can log in or out on the same job. When you first select a technician (and you have not selected a labor item), the program will first try and find any labor logs you haven't logged out of yet and display that log item. Even if it is just yourself, you'll be able to track your hours much more accurately.

Version 4.6.12 - April 9, 2015

Added: Table to display last labor items worked on while using the Labor Logger.

Version 4.6.13-14 - April 10, 2015

Added: Stored signatures for use with ChargeItPro.

Added: Setup for ChargeItPro located in credit card setup.

Version 4.6.16 - May 4, 2015

Added: Cash/Transaction History File.

Changed: Purge or End of Day now copies detailed transaction records to cash transaction file. This way you can get dated reports from the cash file.

Added: 3 new reports, Summary, detail and cash/check/CC reports for cash history.

Fixed: Tax Names now show from the company setup in the cash reports.

Version 4.6.17 - May 5, 2015

Version 4.6.18 - May 11, 2015

Version 4.6.19 - May 15, 2015

Added: Components may now be viewed from the RO screen. Simply right click on the Vehicle button and a display of the vehicles components will display on the right. This is a tree display so you can click on the plus sign to the left of the component name and you can see all the parts for that component.

Added: You can now drag and drop all components, one component, or one part to the parts list in the RO screen. Only parts will show, so if you drag a component, all the parts for that component will be copied to the parts list. If you have quantity checkmarked, it will ask for the quantity for the part(s).

Version 4.6.20 - May 18, 2015

Added: If you have the component list displayed on the right side of the RO screen, you can drag parts to the component. First, highlight the component on the right. You can add a component if you need to. Then, drag a part from the parts list onto the component toolbox screen and let go.
