1.Added: New Email button in Point of Sale. This allows you to simply create an email to the customer and send it. You can use a built in letter from the Reminder letters that are located under the Email Tab. The selector will just show you those letters. It will let you know if there is no email address. Just hit the Edit Customer, add one, then try again.

2.Fixed: When adding parts via package pricing in the RO screen, the customer number wasn't getting added. That caused that part to not show up in customer history. There is a utility to fix this data in the Fixdata program for items that weren't getting added before.

3.Fixed... Maybe: Digital Wrench will sometimes run in the background instead of just running normally. Unfortunately, because it was random or not consistent, we couldn't figure how to fix it, until now, maybe. It ran in the background for us, so we used some debug tools and it turned out the one of the program files (a third party file), was an old version that was being sent in the install program. There's no way of knowing if this fixes the issue until some time has passed and we get no more complaints. So if you do have this issue, then you upgrade, and the issue goes away or is still there, please let us know.

4.Changed: Parts, Labor, and Other/Special records now have user names and tech names...

a.Added: From Point of Sale it was adding the tech in the parts as POS Clerk. This has now changed to the User, if one is signed in. Both the Tech Field, and the User Field in the parts that are added to the RO during the Point of Sale is going to be the User that is signed in.

b.Changed: There is now a separate User field in the parts under the RO's. This means that you can have someone signed in that is creating the RO that is different than the tech actually doing the work. This will help trace who was doing the RO in the first place. Of course you have to have a user signed in for this to work, otherwise the user field in the part will be blank.

c.Changed: in the parts history from both the RO screen and the POS screen, the user field has been added.

d.Added: User name and Tech Name to Other/Special Items. Also added a way to change the Tech Name.

e.Added: View of User Name in Labor items in the RO.

5.Changed: When receiving a PO, the keyboard Tab lets you tab from cost to retail. Also, if everything is right and you don't have to change anything, just press enter to save and continue.

6.Fixed: When pulling in a part from a package the location wasn't getting transferred.

7.Fixed: Vendor in the part list / Inventory. It wasn't showing all 30 characters.

Note: We discovered that with 6.4.02 you can only update using the start menu. Close the software and backup, then go to the Start Menu / Digital Wrench Folder / Update Workstations Only. After 6.5.01 you can update normally.
